The School

AADP is the first dance academy in Europe to follow a specifically American method of teaching dance. What is the American philosophy of dance education?  Each dancer learns and progresses individually and is seen as an individual. Self respect and honesty coupled with respect for other dancers is at the center of everything AADP strives to do. Dancers are encouraged to challenge themselves and measure their progress as a function of their own abilities, not in comparison to other dancers.

In addition to helping students improve their dance technique.  AADP endeavors to get to know each student and help that individual meet their own goals on both a personal and spiritual level.  This in turn allows the student to truly reach their potential as a dancer. Brooke Desnoes states her goal : “Helping each dancer reach their potential, both emotionally and physically is what gives me the most satisfaction.”

Students

AADP teaches both pre-professional and amateur students. In both cases, AADP prides itself on the quality of the courses offered.

Amateur students are assessed and placed in the appropriate classes, according to their skill and age, guaranteeing a homogenous skill level in each course.

In the pre-professional and horaire amenagé section, classes and student selection are determined by the student’s technical, artistic and physical abilities.  Please note that AADP uses a different set of criteria to assess a dancer’s physique than that used throughout France. AADP also sets itself apart by encouraging students to aspire to the international stage.  Once students have received their training with us, AADP helps them to compliment their training by studying abroad and has established relationships with prestigious schools in the UK, Germany and the United States.
