The School

AADP is the first dance academy in Europe to follow a specifically American method of teaching dance. What is the American philosophy of dance education?  Each dancer learns and progresses individually and is seen as an individual. Self respect and honesty coupled with respect for other dancers is at the center of everything AADP strives to do. Dancers are encouraged to challenge themselves and measure their progress as a function of their own abilities, not in comparison to other dancers.

In addition to helping students improve their dance technique.  AADP endeavors to get to know each student and help that individual meet their own goals on both a personal and spiritual level.  This in turn allows the student to truly reach their potential as a dancer. Brooke Desnoes states her goal : “Helping each dancer reach their potential, both emotionally and physically is what gives me the most satisfaction.”

Premises

The AADP dance studio has been located at 100 rue du Cherche Midi in the 6th arrondissement of Paris since 2006.

The Anneberg Foundation’s generous support has made this possible.  Thanks to their generosity, AADP’s facilities give dancers the optimal environment in which to succeed.  The five classrooms are modern and no detail has been left untouched: Sound, flooring and equipment all add to a dancer’s comfort.  Students also have access to showers, a study room and a cafeteria.  These amenities are especially beneficial to students enrolled in the horaires aménagés, a specific program in France that allows students to enroll in dance classes during the school day.
